Work permit and

Pre-employment
orientation

Comprehensive group and individual orientations upon arrival as part of the hand-over process

At Pelita Baru, we want to ensure that each domestic helper is fully prepared for her job. Upon arrival, we conduct a group orientation. This involves a general motivational session and an overview of work and cultural expectations. Then, we conduct individual briefing sessions. These sessions are uniquely tailored to each domestic helper. Each session includes a refresher of their respective job descriptions, any special employer requirements, and useful tips.

SOCSO (PERKESO)
registration

Complete all necessary procedures to register SOCSO (PERKESO) accounts as recently mandated

Since 1 June 2021, the Malaysian government has mandated that all employers of domestic helpers must make monthly SOCSO contributions. These contributions are in the amount of 1.25% of the domestic helper’s monthly salary. The purpose is to insure against employment injuries. We provide assistance in registering your account with SOCSO. This enables you to commence these compulsory contributions in a timely manner and avoid any fines.

RENEWAL AND CANCELLATION SERVICES

Work permit renewal
(immigration)

Timely notifications regarding work permit renewals and complete processing of work permit renewals

All Malaysian and expatriate (MM2H) employers are required to renew their domestic helper’s work permit with the Immigration Department on a yearly basis. This is to maintain their domestic helper’s legal status in Malaysia. We provide comprehensive work permit renewal services for all employers, whether or not you are an existing client. As for our existing clients, we also provide notice 3 months before the renewal deadline — helping you maintain continuous compliance.

Contract renewal
(embassy)

Timely notifications regarding POEA contract renewals and complete processing of POEA contract renewals

All employers are required to renew their domestic helper’s employment contract with the relevant embassy. This contract renewal is required on a 2-year basis for Filipino domestic helpers, and a 1-year basis for Indonesian domestic helpers. We provide comprehensive contract renewal services for all employers, whether or not you are an existing client. As for our existing clients, we also provide notice 3 months before the renewal deadline — helping you maintain continuous compliance.

Work permit
cancellation

Process cancellation of maid’s work permit and obtain check out memo as part of their repatriation process

Before your domestic helper repatriates at the end of her contract or as and when the need arises (e.g. failing a medical exam), a check out memo (COM) must be issued by the Immigration Department. This is to officially discharge her from your employment. We provide end-to-end repatriation services to facilitate the smooth departure of your domestic helper. This includes application for the COM, flight arrangements, and even transport services.

Special pass
application

Process applications for special pass — required when a maid’s work permit needs to be temporarily extended

Under certain circumstances — such as when an employer needs additional time to process their domestic helper’s repatriation — a temporary visa known as a ‘special pass’ must be obtained from the Immigration Department. A special pass ensures the continuing legal status of your domestic helper. Especially in cases that involve overstaying, the special pass application can be complex. Temporary food and
lodging for maids

All-inclusive and secure accommodation for maids should clients require it, e.g. when going away on vacation

Need a place for your domestic helper to stay when you go on vacation? Or perhaps you aren’t able to receive your domestic helper as soon as you would like to? Don’t worry. Should you need temporary boarding for your domestic helper at any time over their employment period, we provide all-inclusive accommodation services. This includes safe and secure accommodation, daily nutritious meals, and any necessary transport services.

Don’t worry, we will keep you updated at every step of the way, updating you with timely WhatsApp notifications so that you are fully aware of the status of your application.

Upon your new maid's visa approval, we arrange their flight and orientation to ensure a smooth sailing hand-over!

After your new maid’s visa is approved, we promptly arrange for their flight to Malaysia. Before handing over your new maid, we handle everything from their medical check-up (FOMEMA) to their pre-employment orientation, ensuring a smooth transition into your household.
